Klara Laguardia
Klara La Guardia is a Belgian-American soprano and voice teacher. With a deep passion for classical voice, musical theater, and contemporary pop/rock/R&B, they are dedicated to helping their students find joy and honest self expression through music.
Klara began performing at the age of four, when they fell in love with musical theater. Now, their professional focus has shifted to classical music, though they have a deep love for both genres.
Originally from California, they graduated from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and a minor in Dance. As a Boston based performer, Klara has recently performed in operas, musicals, large scale choral works, and recitals. They love performing the music of under-represented composers, and, in recent recitals, have presented the American premieres of multiple Flemish song cycles.
Klara’s teaching is compassionate, exploratory, and rooted in the belief that everyone can, and should, sing. With experience teaching students of all levels, they aim to provide a warm and encouraging environment within their studio so that the people they work with can freely explore their voices, find grounding in performance, and tell stories through music.
In their free time, Klara is an avid reader, loves to cook, practices yoga, and spends as much time as they can outdoors.
