Julia Ragusa
Julia is a Boston based singer, actor, dancer, and passionate voice instructor with her Bachelor of Arts in Music and Theatre from Gordon College. Additionally, she studied at Fordham University in Lincoln Center for their Musical Theatre Intensive.
She has a lot of experience teaching; and is committed to creating a fun, challenging, and safe environment for students to learn and grow their confidence. Her lessons utilize vocal acoustics, body mapping, and elements of Linklater technique to set students up for success in resonance and expression. She is passionate about teaching both classical and contemporary vocal techniques to give students the tools they need to sing for multiple genres. Her specialties include Musical Theatre, Jazz, Classical, and Pop.
Julia is also a committed performer with experience in professional musical theatre, acting, and live music entertainment. She has performed leading roles in operettas including Rosalinda in Die Fledermaus and Gianetta in The Gondoliers with the College Light Opera Company. In the realm of new works, she has performed as the lead in the musical Witch Cakes that was brought to the Providence Fringe Festival.
In straight theatre, she has performed leading roles such as Henrietta Leavitt in Silent Sky and Bridget Bishop in Cry Innocent: The People Vs. Bridget Bishop. She also performs as a jazz singer in local restaurants for events such as Sinatra Sunday’s, and has received recognition from jazz singers like Michael Bublé. He has said, “she sounds like an old school Ella Fitzgerald or Sarah Vaughan.” She continues to grow as an artist, putting out her own music for streaming, creating music videos, and growing her online audience of 206k.
